Warranty & Returns Policy – Classic Guitars & Amps

At Classic Guitars & Amps, we aim to keep things straightforward, fair, and easy to understand. While issues are uncommon, we’re here to support you if something doesn’t go to plan and to ensure a smooth process from start to finish.

Warranty Coverage

All guitars purchased through Classic Guitars & Amps are backed by a 12-month warranty. This covers faults relating to normal use, including:

  • Electrical components

  • Structural integrity

  • Tuners

  • Bridges

  • General hardware

  • Truss rod functionality

As a general rule, if something doesn’t seem right under normal use, we encourage you to reach out—most genuine issues will be covered.

What’s Not Covered

There are some items and situations that fall outside of warranty:

  • Strings (considered consumable)

  • Cosmetic finishes, including nitrocellulose finishes that naturally age, check, or wear over time

  • Hardware plating/finishes (e.g. gold hardware wear)

  • Consumables such as batteries

  • General wear and tear from regular use

Common Sense Clause:
If something falls into the category of normal upkeep or accidental damage, it won’t be covered. For example, worn strings, flat batteries, or damage from drops or mishandling are not considered warranty faults.

Making a Warranty Claim

If you experience an issue during the warranty period, we’re your first point of contact.

The best way to get things moving is to email us with a clear description of the problem. From there:

  • We’ll assess the issue and help troubleshoot where possible

  • If required, we’ll log the fault and begin the formal process

  • We’ll liaise directly with any relevant suppliers or service agents on your behalf

  • Your item may be repaired locally or sent to an authorised service centre if needed

Once the work is completed, we’ll either test the instrument ourselves or have you test it to ensure everything is functioning as expected.

Proof of Purchase

A valid proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. This can be a printed or digital receipt.

We recommend requesting an emailed copy of your receipt at the time of purchase for safekeeping. Please note:

  • Bank statements alone are not sufficient proof of purchase

  • Due to previous system changes, we may not be able to retrieve older sales records

Warranty Conditions & Voids

The warranty may be void if:

  • The instrument has been tampered with, misused, or damaged through neglect

  • Repairs, modifications, or servicing have been carried out by a third party without prior approval from Classic Guitars & Amps

Inspection & Sale Condition

Every instrument is thoroughly inspected prior to sale to ensure it meets our standards.

If a guitar has any known issues, these will be clearly outlined and documented at the time of sale. Instruments sold as “as is” or “junk” are not covered under warranty for those disclosed faults.

Returns & Refunds

We do not offer refunds for change of mind.

However, this does not override your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If a product has a genuine fault that cannot be resolved within a reasonable timeframe, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in line with those guidelines.

Our Commitment

Throughout any warranty or service process, we act on your behalf and aim to achieve the best possible outcome. If a claim is ever declined by a manufacturer or supplier, we will provide full transparency, including documentation and contact details so you can pursue the matter further if needed.

By purchasing from Classic Guitars & Amps, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined above.
