A beautiful example of just how versatile a big Gretsch hollowbody can be.
This 2011 G6196T Country Club is in great condition, plays superbly and has that big, open character you’d expect from one of Gretsch’s classic full-size hollowbody designs.
Jazz players will feel immediately at home with it, but don’t pigeonhole it. There’s plenty of versatility here, and it is equally happy moving outside traditional jazz territory.
It’s also refreshing to have something a little different visually. We love the classic Gretsch sunbursts and oranges as much as anyone, but it’s nice to see one that stands apart from the crowd.
Comfortable, responsive and extremely enjoyable to play. It’s one of those guitars that’s very difficult not to like once you’ve spent some time with it.
