Ltd Ed Joe Bonamassa 1958 "Amos" Korina Flying-V Custom shop Epiphone w/Case 🤘🏼🎸
Epiphone knocked it out of the park with this reproduction of a vintage Korina flying V based on The original 1958 "Amos" flying V.
👇A bit of Flying V back story. 👇
When a small town music shop owner in Indianapolis named Amos Arthur received probably what was the first Gibson Flying-V it must of looked like it was from space.
When he took delivery of this at the time very odd, wedge-shaped Gibson guitar not only was it A very out there shape and design but it also had unproven humbucker pickups, and came in a guitar case that looked like a coffin.
At the time archtops was really the guitar everyone played the fender Stratocaster and the Les Paul We’re not really on the radar with the big bang scene still very much in the spotlight, rock ‘n’ roll hadn’t really kicked off at this point.
The 1st run of Korina Gibson Flying-Vs were made between 1958 and 1959 And when they did release them they were to put it kindly a bit of a flop With less than 100 Guitars documented on the original factory run.
The new guitar was immediately Seen to be ugly and at times are laughable design, Now when you look at it how times have changed if you have one of these in your collection you’re the one laughing all the way to the bank with original 58/59 Korina flying V prices reaching scary figures.
